Visited La Regata, quite by chance,for the first time with a friend a little under a year ago and we both had an excellent meal. I visited again last Friday and was greeted and served by Jamie who remarkably seemed to remember me from 2010.
On that occasion I had a whole Brill, my favourite dish, and it was excellent. Last Friday no Brill was available so I had some very tasty Pork Loin Steaks. Jamie said it was possible that Brill would be on the menu the following day, Saturday & it was, having first taken the trouble to phone me to confirm. This time, and living & working in the C.I., where Brill is a regular favourite of many, with great Scallops as a Starter, I have to say that this huge fillet was probably the best fish, excellently cooked and prepared, at a very reasonable cost, that I have ever tasted. Praise indeed, but well earned.
Jamie and all of the other staff are super efficient yet not "pushy"; they are all extremely polite, very friendly in a restaurant with a great ambience - all qualities very hard to find these days in the UK.
Thanks to you all - I will be back (that's a threat!) and have already spread the "news" to friends and work colleagues. You should all be proud of what you have created at that place and wish you all of the best for continuing success.
